Our comprehensive Database of Regulations Wins by State showcases the outcomes achieved through the Title IX Equal Protection Project, which was launched in 2017. Every case included in this database is the result of extensive research, beginning with a thorough review of school websites to evaluate compliance with Title IX regulatory requirements. This includes verifying whether institutions provide required information such as their Title IX policy, Title IX Coordinator contact information, how to file a Title IX complaint, required training materials, notices of nondiscrimination, and other federally required Title IX resources. Each identified violation then undergoes an independent quality review before a complaint is submitted to the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
The database highlights schools where OCR complaints resulted in meaningful corrective actions, including the addition or revision of required Title IX information, improved website compliance, updated policies and procedures, and other changes that strengthened transparency and compliance with federal Title IX regulations. “When the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) determines that a complaint has been successfully resolved, we consider it a win because it demonstrates that the identified Title IX regulatory violation was corrected through the OCR complaint process, resulting in a meaningful improvement in the institution’s compliance with federal law.” By making these outcomes publicly available, we demonstrate the measurable impact of our research and our ongoing commitment to advancing equal protection and ensuring that schools provide students, employees, and the public with the Title IX information required by law.
