Learn About Our Project

The Title IX Equal Protection Project

The Title IX Equal Protection Project examines whether federally funded colleges and universities are complying with Title IX by providing equal opportunities regardless of sex.

Through thorough research, comprehensive reviews, formal complaints, and persistent follow-up, we work to advance equal protection for all.

FROM REVIEW TO RESOLUTION

Our Five-Step Process

Step 1

Review School
 Websites

We review colleges and universities nationwide to identify scholarships, programs, clubs, and organizations that may violate Title IX.

Step 2

Identify Scholarship & Program Violations

Our team evaluates scholarships, programs, clubs, and student organizations to identify potential sex-based discrimination under Title IX.

Step 3

Review Title IX Regulations

We review school websites to determine whether they publish the Title IX information required by federal law, including coordinator contact information, policies, grievance procedures, and reporting resources.

Step 4

Quality Review & Documentation

Our team conducts a final quality review to verify our findings, confirm supporting evidence, and prepare the documentation for an OCR complaint.

Step 5

File OCR
Complaints

When potential violations are identified, we file formal complaints with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) seeking enforcement of Title IX.

Why This Project Matters

Title IX protects everyone. Equal protection means ensuring that no student is excluded or disadvantaged because of sex. Our project exists to verify whether educational institutions are living up to that promise.
